    in recent years, the investigations about the flapping foil hydrokinetics turbines, as a new method to extract energy from incoming flow field, have increased considerably. their potentials for the generation of power are studied here computationally by using two dimensional unsteady navier-stokes solver. in this paper, the geometrical shape influences on the power extraction performance of flapping foil hydrokinetic turbine have been studied. the present study suggest that a pitching center at the third chord appears to be a reasonable choice and the thickness distribution cause the flapping foil performance in energy harvesting change considerably.
