    no operations work individually, directly or indirectly, as part of a larger value network, and should always take into account the role of the supply chain and the supply network. in this paper, with regard to the strategic importance of the supply chain and supply network, using the fifth chapter of the professor slack and lewis operations strategy book, a brief outline of the strategic issues of the supply chain and supply network presented, and briefly defines the chain and supply network, the decision dealing with the purchase of items or production within the organization, the types of contracts and the role of communication in the procurement contract and the supply of materials, the dynamics of a supply network over time, how it is managed, and the risks associated with it, and how to manage it. risks are addressed. subsequently, given that all the issues raised in this area by professor slack and lewis for all types of operations, including production, services, and even none- profit organizations, are presented in this research. all of these issues are tailored to project-based organizations, their importance, and priority in project-based organizations, and for each one, a solution for implementation in project-based organizations is presented. as a result, enthusiasts in the supply chain and supply network in project-based organizations can follow this strategic approach and apply their research and activities.
